Our next sponsored player is none other than our first team Vice-Captain Jamie Fullwood, who is sponsored by friend and fellow cricketer, Dave Henson of DH Plumbing Services

Dave owns and runs a local plumbing business. When he’s not donning the whites of Glusburn CC, he takes on full bathrooms, boiler installation, and all manner of other plumbing and heating works. Please get in touch with Dave for any quotes or to discuss any works 👍

Onto our player. Jamie is the LLCC expert radar slipper. Never one to put himself in positions to grab headlines, it would be easy to misunderstand how vital a member of the team he is.

In the last game of last season, with the title on the line, we had a major batting collapse away at chasing Cowling CC. Stepping into the crease batting at no.10, with us floundering at 80odd for 8 wickets, Jamie put on a signature late fireworks display. Smoking an entertaining and equally crucial 44 from 28 balls and leaving young star Qasim open mouthed at the other end, we set 133 to win and eventually bowled them out for 113. Jamie’s performance was one of the highlights of the year.

Jamie is also the 1st XI regular Wicketkeeper. Having won the illustrious Craven League Wicketkeeping Award twice, he is definitely no mug with the gloves. Since joining the club in 2020 PlayCricket records that he’s taken 50 catches and 2 stumpings.

Rumour has it, Jamie is also a dab hand at part time swing bowling. This was put to the test in the 2023 season when then captain Tom Butterfield threw him the ball away at rivals Ingrow CC. Matthew Stowell aka Rupert took the gloves and looked like a fish out of water for the final overs. Shahbaz starred that day taking 7-19, but Jamie got what proved to be the crucial wickets, skittling star man Atif for 45 who at the time was looking ominous and destructive. He then cartwheeled the stumps of Aaron Pearce to win us the match when Ingrow needed only two runs to win. A heroic cameo with the ball from Jamie.

We can’t wait to play Ingrow again this year, nobody more so than Jamie! That element of competitive needle is what we all play the game for.
