Hi, due to the seniors playing in the Keighley Cup at home this Friday, we have to cancel our junior training.
Please feel free to come up and watch if you fancy a bit of T20 action. The clubhouse will be open to serve refreshments.

Over the last few months we have been working with the juniors, local Councillor John Lawless and Keighley Town Council on applying for funding to aid with our growing junior training programme.
Tonight Madison was invited to speak before the funding committee at the council. The committee included several council employees, local councillors and the Mayor. She did an amazing job highlighting the need for additional training equipment and free club clothing for our Juniors. She also eloquently explained how we need to improve the scorebox and replace the window. Finally she spoke about how we offer free training to the kids of Long Lee, where there is little for them to do in the village, and how we could encourage more children to enjoy cricket if we had better equipment and facilities.
The committee were so impressed that they voted unanimously in favour of approving a grant of £3000! An amazing result for our club and our juniors.
A massive thanks to Moo, John and all the juniors that put together a paragraph to support the application. Proud of Moo, proud of our club.
Our annual club race night will be held on Saturday the 5th April from 7pm at The Dickie Bird.

It was great to meet the Lord Mayor at the Family Fun Day at Long Lee Village Hall. We were supporting Grace Dance Co but also promoting our own Fun Day on the 27th of August.
Hopefully, he will be available in his full regalia to take part in our event.

We also had local Councillor John Lawless with us. He is also keen on supporting our event.
Keep checking the website and our socials for full details, coming soon…..

The main celebrity was this guy, top bloke and top cricketer!
We were very busy all day taking part in a competition to design the next Yorkshire CC T20 shirt. We had loads of entries from both young and old. Hopefully, we have a winner amongst us as there are some great prizes up for grabs.
Yesterday was an excellent day. With the 2nd team getting a full 20pts by default, all eyes were on the first team who hosted Bradley. The visitors batted first, with some agricultural slogging, sloppy fielding and a lot of bad luck on our part resulting in a total of 215-9 being posted. Shahbaz took 3-55, Waqas 3-61, Robbo 2-39 & Jack Mac 1-48.
With a tough chase of 216 to win, it felt like the tie could go either way throughout. Workmanlike contributions from the top 5 left us 71-4, when star of the day Shahbaz stepped into the crease. With notable support from Matt Stowell (26) and Jack Mac (25), Shahbaz bludgeoned a mighty 74 from just 53 balls, feeding three sixes to the bogfield, as well as smashing a six straight through the front doors into the pavilion! With partners falling at the other end, we found ourselves 170-8, needing 46 to win. Jamie came in at 10 and played some lovely shots to edge us closer to the total. Shahbaz was finally dismissed leaving us 208-9, before Jamie and Robbo saw us home with just 13 balls and one wicket remaining!
What a day for my first day as captain. We had a terrific atmosphere all day, as well as spending some time after the game in the now fully renovated pavilion. Thanks to everyone who came up through the day, putting money into the club and getting behind the lads. And as always, thank you to Mark and Rich for their tireless work on the ground.
We had a productive day up at the club today (Saturday 8th April), getting ready for the season ahead.
The ground is looking great, especially after so much wet weather. The smell of freshly cut grass provokes the senses and heightens the anticipation of the season ahead. It helped that the sun shone down upon us, and there was plenty of banter in the air!
The pavilion has been transformed with new seating, tables, and flooring to make it a warm and friendly atmosphere for players and family members alike. The fully licensed bar is stocked full, waiting for those first thirsty lips from players and supporters eagerly waiting for the sound of leather on willow.
A big thank you to all our volunteers who came and helped with the ground and pavilion. Without you guys and gals, the club just would not survive.
